Obituary for Peter Kane

On March 24, age 70. Beloved son of the late Larry and Ruth. Loving brother of Debbie and Sonia. Cherished uncle of Allegra (Florian) and Daniel (Natalie) and great- nephew Adrian. A talented photographer and videographer, Peter worked as a news editor at KTVU in Oakland, CA, and also produced the Bay Area segment of the annual Muscular Dystrophy Association Telethon. He was known for his gentle and appreciative manner with the MD kids he filmed at camp every summer. In his photographs Peter captured indelible images of the 60’s protest movements in NYC and Washington DC and the lyrical beauty of the Bay area after he moved there in 1972. These, and his photos chronicling our family’s life over 4 decades, are the legacy he left us. We miss him so much already. On Sunday April 21 at 2 PM a memorial service will be held at Sherman’s Flatbush Memorial Chapel, 1283 Coney Island Avenue, Brooklyn. Donations in his honor: MDA, 1388 Sutter Street, Suite #505, San Francisco, CA 94109.
