My Aunt Marilyn was my favorite aunt. She was affectionate, fun-loving, extroverted and fun to be with. Growing up, my family spent lots of holidays at her house. Often we'd drive there with my grandparents in the car. This was before seat belt regulations so you could stuff 7 people into a car meant for 5...We'd also get together in NYC to see Broadway musicals- at her instigation. Sweeney Todd and Brigadoon are 2 I remember. I have really happy memories of Aunt Marilyn planning and hosting a great surprise 50th birthday for my father, her brother.

Years later when I was married and living on Long Island, I visited with my husband, Bob and Corey, only a few months old at that time. She indulged him and let him pull all 100 tissues out of a Kleenex box. My son, Kevin was born 2 years later. She and Jack visited while I was in the hospital. Marilyn only had good to say about anyone. She complimented Kevin on his "ruddy complexion." It was heat-rash!

I was sorry when she and Jack moved to Florida, but for many years we'd visit for Passover, flying with my mother, and Corey and Kevin, who were young children. Aunt Marilyn made great seders. She must've prepared for weeks. Her brisket never tasted as good when I attempted to make it myself...I will always remember those warm and wonderful family gatherings. I will always remember Aunt Marilyn as that warm and welcoming woman who thought nothing of entertaining a crowd.

I will always think of her with a smile.

I'll really miss grandma. She was very loved by all of us. I enjoyed helping her go to Israel for a cousin's wedding a previous summer. I loved visiting her and grandpa in Florida when growing up, getting to go to the Brevard Zoo and Disney World and NASA and the condo's pool and more. She always made sure we took good care of ourselves, wearing hats and sunscreen and such. She is in my heart and prayers.

Marilyn Greenfield was my favorite cousin. She had a deep warmth, generosity, a sense of humor, and a loving optimism. She worked for a time with handicapped adults, and found positive ways to use the abilities they had to foster their creativity and well-being. The theatre was a lifelong passion, and she acted in plays wherever she lived. I will miss her.
