Obituary for Richard C. Rosen

Richard C. Rosen passed away on April 12th, 2021 in New York City. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Andrea.

Richard is survived by his mother, Claudia Queally, many loving relatives and and a multitude of dear friends. A lifelong New Yorker, Richard grew up in the Flatlands neighborhood of Brooklyn, where he attended PS 119 and Midwood High School. Here began his exuberant life as an exceptional scholar, debater, lover of theater and justice. He carried that excellence to Vassar College and then Brooklyn Law School where he made the Law Review. Richard had a successful career as an attorney, with prestigious firms Wilkie, Farr and Gallagher, Marsh McLennan and Crystal.

The defining love of Richard’s life was his wife Andrea who he married on Valentine’s Day, 1992. Their love, devotion, humor and generosity has been an inspiration for their friends and family. They shared a deep love of theater and in recent years had become producers of successful Broadway shows, On the Town and Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812.

We will all miss his incredible knowledge of all things popular culture, his wit, his laugh, his sharp suits and most of all his kindness. He was the best of men.
