Obituary for Leonard Halpern

On September 8, 2016. Beloved husband of the late Barbara. Loving father of Brenda Halpern and Leslie and Rick Gilman. Proud grandfather of Jared. Devoted brother of Paula Levine and the late Raymond. Loyal son of Irving and Tessie and son-in-law of Raymond and Mae Feiden. A graduate of Tilden High School and Pace University, Leonard served in The Army of Occupation in Tokyo, in Gen. MacArthur’s headquarters. He was a brilliant auditor who was instrumental at the highest levels of management during the NYC financial crisis of the 1970s. But his true passion was for his family. His life was spent making sure ours would be better. Leonard’s legacy is the love he showed us every day. Services 12:00 PM Monday September 12 at Sherman’s Flatbush Memorial Chapel, 1283 Coney Island Avenue, Brooklyn, NY. www.shermanschapel.com.
