Judith Aseneth (Wyler) Posner, 91, peacefully passed away in the early morning of January 7, 2021. She is pre-deceased by her husband Marvin, parents Lucile Wyler and Bernard Lebowitz, and her uncle Arthur Wyler
Judy is the mother of David (Amy) Posner, Lucile (Steven Kulawy) Posner and the late Glenn (Susan) Posner. She is grandmother of eight, Joshua (Andreeia) Varon, Mara (Adam) Weinstein, Alex (Jessica) Varon, Shai (Miriam) Posner, Daniel Varon, Eliana Posner, Jane Posner and Caroline Posner. She has six great grandchildren, Ari, Gilad, Gabriel, Luna, Cole and Hudson.
Born in Manhattan in 1929, Judy attended Washington Irving High School and maintained lifelong friendships with her gang of girlfriends. Her love of travel took her by cruise ship to South America in 1949 where she visited cousins in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She also crossed the United States – twice – by car in the late 1940s.
Judy grew up as the only child in a house full of adults. With a family background of Swiss-French heritage that hailed from Oberendingen, Switzerland, she had tantes instead of aunts, could cook with a French flair, and lived, like her family, a fairly bohemian life. And as a resident of Hell’s Kitchen, she learned to drive a car under the elevated West Side Highway.
Judy and Marvin spent the first few years of married life living on her family’s (non-working) farm in Schooley’s Mountain, NJ where David and Lucy were born. The majority of her family’s life was spent in Brooklyn, where Glenn was born, where she returned to school to earn an Associate’s degree from New York Community College and where she worked as a reading paraprofessional in the local elementary school.
She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and was blessed with a clear mind for her entire life. She will be missed terribly, and her memory will be as a blessing for all of her family and friends. Baruch Dayan Emet.

Remembering Judy with such warm memories. You rarely meet someone of her intelligence, her genuine warmth and the way she made you feel like someone special. She was loved by so many beyond her own family. Heartful condolences to her children and many grand and great grandchildren.
