Obituary for Howard Riefs

Howard Riefs was a loving son to Marsha and Marty, a caring brother to Sheri and brother-in-law to Asher, a fun uncle to his nieces Amaya and Isla, nephew to Aunt Bobbi, cousins to many and most important he adored his lifelong love, Megan. He was multi-talented in photography, art, an avid reader, enjoyed sports trivia, extremely generous and had a knack to give unique and special gifts. And of course, he loved his golf having traveled 2 times to Scotland to play and wouldn’t think twice about driving 1/2 day out of his way to play golf if it was near his destination. When he lived in Chicago, he would spend 5 hours driving to the Kingsley Golf Club in Michigan which he enjoyed very much.
He was extremely friendly and made lifelong friends out of strangers very easily. He had an infectious smile.
His career in public relations spanned 28 years working in diversified industries. He adored his nanny and poppy and traveled with them to play golf when he was younger. It is only fitting that he be buried with them now so they can watch over him.
Combining his passion for golf, Howard participated twice in the 100 golf hole fundraiser for Breast Cancer Research. For those who wish to memorialize Howard’s memory, a donation in his memory to his favorite charity, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation would be appreciated.
